Job Description

The Online Architect is responsible for guiding online platforms architecture across all of Vonage’s software development and online footprint. The Online Architect possesses a global understanding of the enterprise’s software systems is required with particular focus on online system interactions and interfaces. Knowledge of web platforms for sales and service within the telecommunications industry is required. The Online Architect is a specialist in simplifying complexity, resolving ambiguity and focusing teams on creative solutions for web applications.

Essential Job Functions:
-Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the life-cycle of Online application development projects.
-Ability to develop a systematic roadmap for revamp of Online Platforms
-Ability to design applications that coexist on web and mobile platforms
-Solution architecting, design, development and roll out of online solutions
-Demonstrable experience of eCommerce concepts and platforms within the telecommunications industry or other online communication service providers
-Experience within the architecture and design of web-based self-service applications
-Evaluate and anticipate the impact of technical solutions on related projects
-Provide leadership to application development teams including clear articulation of a target architecture as well as being a focal point for architecture risk mitigation
-Responsible for design and review of Vonage software systems with particular attention to the interfaces and interactions between individual systems as well as third-party integrations
-Coordinate design and system review cycles for software projects
-Work with the organization to ensure that systems are flexible, scalable, secure and maintainable
-Establish design goals to lead teams
-Promote knowledge sharing within the technical communities
-Online Development and Support Process definition and improvement

Specific Requirements:
-Web Strategies and Technologies
-Integration Approaches and Technologies including SOA
-Software design/development experience
-Understanding of Mobile and VoIP technology
-Industry Models such as eTOM and NGOSS
-Project management skills
-BSS Ordering and Billing Architecture and Domain Knowledge
-Strong written and spoken communication skills
-Documentation skills for software projects
-5+ years of architecture experience in the IT/networking/telecommunications/software industry
-Ability to use data and logic to successfully defend a professional viewpoint
-Familiarity with network operations and processes, network management systems and network tools within an online production environment

Additional Skills (would like to have but not required)
-Web eCommerce and Self-Care Platforms such as ATG, eGain etc.
-Autonomy Interwoven Content Management System
-Knowledge or Experience of Amdocs CES (CRM, OMS, Billing, EPC, AR etc.)

Education:
-Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or equivalent preferred)
