Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance and installation of Refinery equipment. Primarily responsible for the quality repair and preventative maintenance of all refinery machinery (compressors, turbines, engine pumps). As part of your specific responsibilities, in the following areas, you will:

  • Responsible for precision machining of refinery equipment and part using shop tools (lathe, milling machine, etc.)
  • Works with Refinery operators, Shop Supervisors, Planners, other mechanics, maintenance reliability group and engineering to perform analytical troubleshooting of machinery failures.
  • Involved in all aspect of removing, repairing, and installing refinery machinery in both a field and shop environment.
  • Will be required to train and operate utility equipment such as a forklift, manlift, etc.
  • Will be required to assist in all general craft of maintenance, as workload requires.
  • Responsibility for compliance with all refinery environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Compliance with all Safety, Health and Environmental Standards.
  • Assembling tools and materials.
  • Understand and take direction of Supervisors.
  • Work with others.
  • Communicate to others and to Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Mechanic opportunity, you will have:

  • Minimum two (2) years trade school preferred
  • Five (5) years' experience as a Mechanic, Machinist or Boilermaker preferred.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License with acceptable Driver's Abstract
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be able to take call outs and work overtime as needed
  • Cannot be afraid of heights or of being in confined spaces such as drums, towers or tanks

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $31.94 to $41.63 per hour
