Pharmacist, Compounding - Full Time Day, Ridgewood

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, supervisor, and Director the pharmacist will provide support all home infusion and compounding pharmacy services. The incumbent will be responsible for pharmacy operations, call center services, medication access, patient care, sterile and non-sterile compounding, accreditation, and service development.

Shift - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

EDUCATION:

Minimum BS in Pharmacy; Masters or Pharm D preferred.



EXPERIENCE:
Registered Pharmacist (current licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of New Jersey). Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, or comparable work experience, is preferred. Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience required.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
High level clinical experience in a compounding Pharmacy setting. This position requires thorough understanding of infusion drug preparation, administration, care coordination and billing. Knowledge and skills related to computerized pharmacy systems, special prescription delivery systems, third party payor and fiscal reimbursement knowledge related sterile and non-sterile compounding, and home infusion. Knowledge of drug data systems and statistical methods. Computer literacy. Effective communication skills (oral, writing, presentation) and interactive skills to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of varied age and cultural groups, departmental and hospital/ambulatory staff, physicians, and patients/family members. Ability to respond quickly and meet the customer's request and/or needs. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to effectively handle interruptions and adapt to a changing environment, workload, and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, troubleshoot, and solve problems. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Capable of assuming responsibility for evaluating and monitoring drug therapy relative to the total needs/problems of the ambulatory care patient in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
