Job Description
Position Title: Machine Operator - 1st + 2nd Shift
Wage: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd
Hours: 6:00am-2:00pm; 2:00pm-10:00pm
QPS Employment Group has a great Machine Operator position available at a company in Waukegan, IL. This is a temporary position for 1st or 2nd shift.
Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Keep the work areas clean and organized.
- Keep machines supplied with paper, ink, wax, and glue.
- Change paper rolls.
- Change printing plates.
- Packing as needed.
- Set up, run, and troubleshoot bag converting and flexographic printers.
- Keep machines supplied with paper rolls, ink, glue, and wax.
- Touchscreen entry on new machines, knobs and manual adjustments on old machines.
- Set formers, gears, and cylinders for paper set up.
- Maintain levels of ink, glue, and hot wax.
- Maintain machine speeds and keep machine running.
- Troubleshoot problems.
- Inspect the bags or food wraps.
- Use tools, tape measure, wrenches, screw drivers.
Machine Operator Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools.
- Basic math and ruler measurements.
- Ability to be on your feet all day walking, bending, reaching, lifting.
- At least 1 year of converting and/or printing machine operating.
- Good work history.
- Pass ruler, math, and mechanical test.
- Reading required for job pockets and touch screens.
