Job Description

As a Trainer Senior your goal is to conduct, develop, and produce training programs and materials for company products and customers in our energy solutions business. You'll maintain and improve the classroom and workshop facilities for training programs. You'll also develop training programs based on feedback from the business.

You will do this by:

  • Developing, producing and presenting training material, handouts, teaching aids and new curricula
  • Maintaining, preparing, and improving classroom or workshop facilities for programs
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of current training methods, facilities and materials
  • Working with the Customer Education Department to develop on-line training courses for products
  • Partnering with marketing and internal stakeholders with technical information for development of support materials
  • Attending and leading training at high visibility functions such as sales meetings, trade shows and specialty dealer/customer meetings as needed
  • Making field visits as required to help assist with product issues, customer issues and to support training development needs
  • Securing the facilities for training and completing administration of system information for the participants
  • Overseeing and providing guidance to lower level Trainers, as applicable

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field OR equivalent education and experience
  • Prior experience in outdoor power equipment industry
  • Minimum five years of experience in technician and/or training and/or public speaking OR related field
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of company products
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Ability to present and maintain a positive, professional image
  • Strong ability to tailor training to adult learning; instructional design skills
  • Proficient use of applicable software, especially MS Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership in meeting training needs and achieving results

Travel Required:

  • % of Travel: 50 - 75%
  • How often: Typically 2 weeks out of month
  • Where: Domestic & Canada
