The role of the Superintendent is to ensure the proper maintenance and operation of the region's generation, transmission, and auxiliary equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner, to safely deliver efficient and reliable power.
The Asset Performance Superintendent is the asset performance leader for the Region. This role is responsible for planning and implementing new asset construction and preventive maintenance activities, evaluating asset performance, managing asset information, and implementing the overall strategic and tactical performance of assets for the Region. Along with the Regional Manager, sets and carries forward the short- / long-term Asset Strategy to ensure the Region gains as much value as possible from its Assets.
The Operations Superintendent is responsible for the safe, efficient, and economic operation of the region's assets. Carries out the responsibilities in a manner that the assets maintain high availability through operational excellence. Ensures that all related NYPA assets associated with the Region are in full compliance with applicable NYPA and regulatory standards for safety and environmental protection.
The Maintenance Superintendent (Electrical, I&C, Technical Services, General, Mechanical, Transmission) is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and economic maintenance and repair of NYPA assets contained within the Region. Provides expertise to supervise, direct and help plan and execute preventive, corrective and construction activities in their Region. Ensures that all department assets within the Region are in full compliance with applicable NYPA and regulatory maintenance standards.
The Superintendent represents the Region on NYPA Standing Committees, which establishes minimum department standards.
