Job Description
Venable LLP's West Coast Private Wealth Planning Group seeks a paralegal with at least three years of experience to join the practice in the Los Angeles office. This position will support our large and diverse group of estate planning attorneys who handle all facets of trust and estate planning and administration. Experience should be directly related to wealth planning with emphasis on trust and probate administration and drafting. Peer law firm experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will be able to support our attorneys from creation to administration as they work with our clients to design tax-efficient wealth management solutions that encourage productive and creative success planning tailored to meet their needs. The anticipated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of job related factors including, but not limited to, years of related experience, level of education, skills, credentials and certifications, responsibilities and performance.

Primary Responsibilities
*Preparation of gift and estate tax returns
*Managing a variety of Probate Division cases, including probate cases, trust petitions, and occasional guardianship and conservatorship matters, from start to finish
*Calendaring cases and advise attorneys of upcoming deadlines, etc.
*Handling post-mortem administration issues, including required notices, real estate filings, etc.
*Handling occasional trust & will drafting as needed

Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree
*California notary license, preferred
*Thorough knowledge of the following: probate administration and documentation, trust administration and documentation, and preparation or supervision of accountings
*Experience with 706 & 709 preparation, probate division case filing and management, trust and will drafting, and trust funding and asset management, is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel
*Outstanding organizational, administrative, and communication (oral and written) skills
*Possess high attention to detail, a strong work ethic and is self-motivated
*Demonstrate ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, efficiently multi-task and produce a high-end work product in a fast-paced environment;
*Team-oriented mindset
*Handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion, and,
*Ability and willingness to work overtime and travel
