Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative Computation Design Lead to join our team. The Computation Design Lead will play a crucial role in leveraging computational tools and techniques to drive design innovation, optimize processes, and deliver cutting-edge solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of computational design methodologies, strong technical skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of computational design strategies and workflows to enhance design processes and outcomes.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to integrate computational tools and methodologies into project workflows and decision-making processes.

  • Conduct research and experimentation with emerging technologies, algorithms, and software tools to explore new design possibilities and improve efficiency.

  • Develop custom scripts, plugins, and automation tools using programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, Grasshopper) to streamline design tasks and data analysis.

  • Perform complex parametric modeling, generative design, optimization, and simulation using computational design software (e.g., Rhino, Revit, Dynamo, Grasshopper).

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on computational design techniques, best practices, and software tools.

  • Collaborate with project managers to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables related to computational design tasks.

  • Participate in design reviews, presentations, and client meetings to communicate computational design concepts, strategies, and outcomes effectively.

  • Stay current with industry trends, advances in computational design, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, computer science, or a related field. A master's degree or PhD in computational design is preferred.

  • Proven experience in computational design, parametric modeling, generative design, and scripting.

  • Strong proficiency in computational design software such as Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, Dynamo, and related plugins.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, and experience with API integration for design software.

  • Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) concepts, workflows, and interoperability with computational design tools.

  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics) is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and ability to translate complex concepts into practical solutions.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation Range:

$124,644.00 - $166,191.00
